These small plein air paintings are made on location, working directly into changing light, weather, colour, and movement.
They are field works: moments of attention, painted quickly and instinctively in response to place. Some inform later studio paintings, while others stand alone as immediate records of a particular day, landscape, and quality of light.
Light Diaries 2026 is a new release of field paintings made across the Welsh landscape, using different limited palettes to explore the shifting colour and atmosphere of each place.
Each painting is unique and painted directly from life.
